This was the show that pitted the FTF boys against nine other contenders for one of two coveted spots at 97x's Next Big Thing concert, held at the 1-800-ASK-GARY Ampitheatre. Tensions got pretty high when the guys arrived at the venue and found that there were no microphone stands for either act. Drew raced back to the band's practice space and grabbed all he could find. No sooner had he walked through Durty Nelly's door a second time than the band was rolling on the first note of "When All Is Said..." "You Never Know" was cut from the set due to time constraints, but two cover songs, "Acrobat" by U2 (with the "FTF spin" on it) and "Aerials" by System Of A Down were performed. A brand new song, "Forget" was debuted. From This Fire didn't clinch one of the two final NBT spots, but the show was memorable for the three new setlist additions, and the guys were just grateful to be picked for the competition at all.
